Album Info:CSX North Mtn Sub. Crozet, Virginia at MP194.4 is between Charlottesville and Waynesboro just off I64. The line is operated under lease from CSX by the Buckingham Branch RR. CSX frequently runs empty coal trains west and Amtrak runs the Cardinal in the form of Train 51 West and Train 50 East. When timetables are being met the two Cardinals meet in the area of Crozet. On this date westbound Train 51 was fifteen minutes late and eastbound Train 50 was moved from two to two and a half hours late when this observer bailed out for supper. Oh well... The meet takes place around 2 or 3 PM when all the players are singing the same tune. Consult the Amtrak Timetable as the Cardinal doesn’t run every day. /DL
