| Somewhere on the MEC, date, place, and photographer unknown. Further research determined that this was a gasoline powered car. Note the piston ahead of the rear axle with the direct link to the rear wheel !!. The operator had to push the car to start it and hopefully jump on before it ran away. Speed control was done by turning one or both of the cylinders off. If the operator failed to get onto in time the car could and did take off on its own. In one instance a car went for 70 miles before it ran out of gas... /DL |
