So their locomotives were outfitted for both systems. The Downeast Scenic bought BML #54 a coupld years ago and it's bumbers were laying on the scrap pile last time I saw them.... /DL |

There is a lot of cinder ballast on the BML as can be seen in this long view towards the east end of the 'flat'. The Whistle Post is for Fowler Hill Road just a couple hundred yards behind the train. /DL |

Sargents (located in the town of Waldo) on the B&ML was once the location of a passing siding and junction with the 2 mile Quarry Hill Branch which was taken up aboout 1910. Mile Post 5B is located about 2/10ths of a mile to the east (to the left in this photo) and the sidings east switch was about where the end of the train is in this perspective. /DL |
